The Natural Bridge Retreat is a privately owned property, so you’ll need to make a booking on Hipcamp. It is only open during certain times of the year.
Where and How to Get There
If heading from the north, you’ll follow Nerang/Murwillumbah Road or from the south, Numinbah Road until you reach the border.
As you’re heading from the south, there will be a clear disctinction of where the border is – and to your right, there will be a dirt road that you’ll need to take. After 200 metres or less, you’ll arrive at the gate to the property.
The driveway is pretty steep in sections and it will be gravel, so take care.
What to Expect
Waterfall, swimming, creeks, cattle, walking, nearby hikes and lookouts, portaloos, hot outdoor showers, fire pits, scenery.
Ultimate Aussie Bucketlist Experience
The Natural Bridge Retreat is pure magic. Spacious campsites, beautiful grass, rolling hills and your very own waterfall. If you’re looking for an escape, this is it.
We spent three days here over the Christmas period and it was the perfect way to unwind and destress from such a big year. The hosts were very pleasant and checked up on guests each day so see how we were. The offer firewood for a good price as well.
Swimming at the base of the waterfall is therapeutic. Plus there are creeks around the property as well for a dip or a cool off. You’re able to walk to the top of the hill nearby to enjoy the view – but remember you’ll be sharing this part of the property with friendly cattle.
If you’re an explorer or hiker, you can follow the border line west and the track will take you to Bushrangers Cave – a perfect spot for snack or a lunch. On from that is a track that will lead you to Mount Howbee (read my experience of the hike here) and also to Binna Burra and O’Reilys.
Currently travelling Australia! Our dream is to complete the 'Big Lap", and we've learned quite quickly that we want to share it for all to experience. We hope this website helps you all plan your next adventure.
