Welcome to the Ultimate Aussie Bucketlist!
With a massive influx of information on the internet and social media, we sometimes feel overwhelmed with where to start looking in our day to day searches.
Here, in the early days of Ultimate Bucketlist, we are compiling the best of what Australia has to offer. Waterfalls, hiking, camping, accommodation, food and drink, flaura and fauna, gorges, craters, epic drives, islands and anything else we can think of – its going to be here. And of course, it is going to be accessible to everyone.
This is not about copy and pasting blog posts and articles from around the web – this is about sharing our very own experiences and adventures. As the site grows, we call upon YOU, the reader, to actually be a contributor. This country is gigantic and its going to take teamwork to compile (and continue to add) such an epic list.
Perhaps you’re planning a lap of Australia…
Perhaps you’re already on your journey and crave some extra inspiration…
Perhaps you’re planning a week away or an extended vacation…
Or, perhaps you love hitting new spots on the weekend to recover from a hard weeks’ work…
The Ultimate Aussie Bucketlist will ensure that you don’t miss anything special that interests you!
About Me

I was born and raised here in Australia, living in different towns along the coast of NSW and QLD until finally settling into the beautiful city of Brisbane.
My first experience travelling some parts of Australia was with my dad when I was 10 years old. I still have some amazing memories from that experience!
Travel is amazing for any age.
We completed a road trip from Brisbane, to Outback QLD and NSW, then down into SA – where we watched a solar eclipse in the small town of Ceduna. We then headed toward VIC, enjoying the Great Ocean Road, hiking Mount Kosciuszko and soaking in the cool air of the Blue Moutains. After a short stop in the ACT, we followed the coast of NSW until we were back in Brisbane. As a ten year, getting that much time off school was incredible!
My first overseas trip was when I was 16. My friend and I saved all of our money from working weekends for friends and family – and purchased plane tickets to the US. We stayed with family friends and did some basic travel while we were there for a month.
I ended up going back to the US in 2011 for a six week road trip which included Las Angeles, The Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Oklahoma, the Rocky Mountains, Hoover Dam and so many amazing places. It was so good, that in 2012 I returned and began studying. From 2012-2016, I studied full time and worked 20-40 hours a week.
While in the US, I had the opportunity to travel around many states on the western half of the country, and enjoyed a few stays in Florida, Georgia and Indiana.
In 2013, Ireland was the next trip for me – and it remains as one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The rich history and old infrastructure had me mesmerised the whole time – plus the constant supply of Guiness was a bonus.
After returning to Sydney in 2016, I worked for a few months, but decided Brisbane was the place to be. Not long after I met my now wife, Daniela, who was born in Colombia. Together we did a lot of weekend travelling around SE QLD and had a trip to Victoria with some friends.
My wife and I planned a trip to Colombia to visit her family – and we did it in 2019. This was probably the most adventurous kind of holiday you could have. Colombia’s natural beauty is off the charts! Unless you’ve been there, it’s hard to describe how many different landscapes and climates one little country can have. As my wife was from there, I was able to get off the tourist routes and experience real Colombian life with the locals.
As Covid hit, our plans to travel South American again were cancelled – so it was now time to think of a Plan B. Spur of the moment – we decided it was time to take a year off and travel our great country of Australia!
