Habitat Noosa is located north of Noosa. It is on the shores of Lake Cootharaba Lake – which is protected from Teewah Beach.
Heading from the south, you’ll follow Louis Bazzo Drive as it winds through the beautiful landscape. After passing Boreen Point, the road becomes Lake Flat Road. This road sharply veers left, but you’ll see the signs for Habitat Noosa and continue striaght down the gravel road. This road is fine for any 2WD vechile – it might just get a little dusty in the dry, or sloppy in the wet.
What to Expect
Although there is provision and plenty of space to set up an basic tent, this property isn’t your typical campground. Expect a restaurant, micro-brewery, cafe, cabins, glamping tents, water activities, equipment hire, amenities and some nice walks/hikes.
The start of the Cooloola Great Walk (102km one-way) begins not too far away and the trail passes on the other side of the lake (Teewah Beach).
Accommodation
You’ll have the option of bringing in your own tent, campervan, motorhome, trailer etc – with or without power.
For those seeking the comforts, you can try these:
We have visited Habitat Noosa twice now, and have enjoyed both times thoroughly. The first time for a work get-together and the second time for a birthday. As with many campsites, you’ll have the pros and cons – perhaps you’ve had a different experience?
The waterfront campsites are nice (you have people try to walk through), but the views of the lake, sunrise and wildlife is awesome.
It can get pretty busy there, but if you have the ability to go on a sunny weekday, it can be pretty quiet.
