1. Name/s?
Hi! We are Angie and Michael!

2. City/Town of Origin?
Angie is originally from Colombia and Mike was born and raise in Sydney, Australia, where we meet and our family and friends are.

3. Nationality?
Angie Colombian and Mike Australian.

4. Previous/Current Occupation?
Angie is a professional in Marketing and Advertising. She arrived in Australia in 2012 to study English and stayed because she fall in love with this country. In Australia she worked as a nanny for 6 years and that was her favourite job ever as she loves kids. Mike is a builder and that is still his occupation and the work he does.

5. Vehicle and set up?
We travel in a Expeditor truck we named “Juggernaut”. He is a Fuso Canter 2019 4WD and we both designed the box how we wanted and Mikes brother build it for us.

6. Vehicle Modifications?
Juggernaut was completely design for us and build for Mikes brother. On the way we have done 2 modifications that are a Max Air Fan (Northern territory can be really hot) and a second extra tyre we add to the roof of the truck.

7. How many kilometres have you travelled?
So far in 2 years were have done over 50.000 km.

8. Pros and cons of vehicle?
We love our set up! As we designed the truck we have the opportunity to make him exactly how we wanted and with the things we are need it and like to live. For example, we love being completely off grid, we don’t need to be connected to water, electricity or anything at all, we have our own bathroom and grey water, which make super easy to sleep everywhere without making a mess or any impact at all. To be honest is hard to think in a con of our set up but if we have to choose something would be how high Juggernaut is, he is 3,4mts high so we can’t go to underground carparks or very low bridges but is something we have learn how to deal with is not that bad at all.

9. Reason for starting travels? Was there a deeper reason for leaving a conventional lifestyle?
We both love travel and we did previous travels before this one. In 2019 we arrived in Australia and have the idea of the truck so we started doing that, super lucky and perfect timing as the pandemic happen and we were pretty much stuck in the country anyway. Worked perfect!

10. When did you start your trip?

We started living in the truck in February 2020 but was a lockdown in Sydney so we live in Mike’s brother backyard for a couple of months and start the trip in June 2020.

11. How long to do you plan to travel for?

Forever! We both work on the road remotely so we are still having an income while travelling.

12. Top 5 Bucket list items for you (whether you have visited them yet, or still waiting to)?

This one is hard! We have had so much fun in these years but here we go:

  1. Swimming with seals in Narooma, NSW

  2. Swimming with Whale Sharks and Humpback whales in Exmouth, WA.

  3. Swimming in a cage with a crocodile in Darwin, NT.

  4. Flying a balloon over the city in Melbourne, VIC.

  5. Seeing the sunrise from an helicopter in Uluru, NT.

13. Has it been easy for you to stick to a budget?

Yes, we are very organised and know what is a priority and balance. Some places have a lot of experiences thar you have to pay for, and other places nothing at all for a lot of time so you have to organise of what you can afford, what is something is worth it for you. Off course, also eating in the truck instead of out and another little things help with the saving money, is all about your priorities.

14. What has been your most difficult moment since your travels began?

Without a doubt being unable to just fly and see family and friends in Sydney and Colombia.

15. What piece of advice would you give to those starting their trip?

Do It! As we have wrote on Juggernaut “Life is too short for a world this big” and we totally live for this! The only thing you take with you is the experiences you have in life and we are super lucky to live in such an incredible country with infinite places to explore. DOOOOOO IT!!!!
